Guidelines
Last updated 23 October 2026
WHYUS? gives you real wallets, which means the responsibility that comes with real wallets. These guidelines are the short version of how to hold them safely.
The golden rules
- Never share your recovery phrase or private keys. Anyone who has them owns the wallets. No member of the WHYUS? team will ever ask for them — treat any such request as fraud.
- Write the 12 words down and keep them offline. Paper in a safe place, or a steel backup. Not a photo, not a screenshot, not a note in the cloud, not a password manager you share.
- Nobody can restore your wallets for you. If the phrase is lost, the wallets are lost, and neither WHYUS? nor whyus.fun has a copy that can recover them.
Using the wallets safely
- Send a small test amount first whenever you use a new address or a new chain.
- Check the address you are sending to on the receiving device, not just on the screen you copied it from.
- Use the QR code or the explorer link on a wallet card to double-check an address before a large transfer.
- Reveal a private key only when you are actually importing it somewhere, and hide it again afterwards.
- Blockchain transfers are final. An address that receives funds cannot send them back by itself.
Your account
- Use a password you do not reuse anywhere else — it is the only thing standing between a stranger and your wallets page.
- Sign out on shared or public devices, and keep your own device locked.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to your account.
Acceptable use
WHYUS? is a wallet product, not a place to run a business on. Do not use it to:
- break any law, or launder the proceeds of crime;
- evade sanctions or fund prohibited activity;
- defraud anyone, or impersonate WHYUS?, whyus.fun or any other service;
- attack, scrape, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or try to reach another account's data.
Accounts used this way may be suspended or closed, and this does not affect your wallets: because the keys are yours, you can always import them into another wallet app.
Reporting a problem
If you believe you have found a security issue, contact security@whyus.fun before disclosing it publicly. For anything else — including account access problems — use support@whyus.fun. See also the terms of service and the privacy policy.
